|I recently reviewed this pattern and I loved the outcome of my dress so much that I decided to sew another version.|
Pattern Description: Misses/Petite Top, Tunic & Dress. Sleeveless, close-fitting, lined, pleated bodice; side seam zipper closure.
Pattern Sizing:Multi-sized 6-20. I used size 6 based on chest measurement. Sometimes, I have to grade up to 8 for the bottom part depending on where the waistline is cut. This pattern allowed me to stay with one size all the way.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow?Yes, especially it's the second time around.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? As I said in my first review, I liked the cut. I thought it was flattering to a small-breasted figure with waistline issues.
I also like that the design allows one to play with fabric combinations the way I did with this dress.
For the dislikes, I mentioned before that I didn't care for the raw edges left by the skirt darts but because I lined the skirt, too, it was not an issue for this dress.
Fabric Used:For the bodice, cotton (Alix eyelet) in ivory. For the skirt, European linen (4.8 oz) in yellow. For lining, cotton batiste. All were purchased last year from Fabric.com and were intended for something else but of course, found their way into the stash bin.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:I added a skirt lining.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?Yes, I'd definitely sew some more! But maybe I'll try the other views next time. And maybe not in linen anymore as the wrinkles are driving me crazy!
I've posted some more details on my blog at Finished Seams.
