Pattern Description: Project Runway dress pattern with a variety of skirt, sleeve and neckline options.
Pattern Sizing: Size 4-12
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I decided to line the bodice and underline the skirt because I thought the cotton fabric needed more body for the slim skirt style. The neckband was a lot more difficult than I anticipated.
Fabric Used: Polished cotton prints from Beverly Fabrics.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: My daughter in law is petite so I made the petite adjustments on the pattern. I hope it will fit her! I also lined the bodice rather than using the armhole facings and I installed the neckband so that it was attached on the right side with top stitching instead of trying to topstitch and "catch" the facing. It was a lot easier and more secure, I think.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I like the neckband but would like to try the pleated skirt with sleeves.
I wanted to complete mother-daughter dresses for my granddaughters and my daughter-in-law. I have fingers crossed that the dress will fit her. Although I could have made a similar style dress to the girls, my daughter-in-law dresses in a more tailored way so I thought the slim skirt would be more to her liking. Of course, the wild colors and flowers may be a bit much - especially when all worn together. I think they will need a lot of greenery around to offset the prints!
