|Pattern Description: Loose-fitting, pullover tops with narrow hem.|
Pattern Sizing: X-Small, Small, Medium
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? For the most part.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I liked how easy the blouse was to make. The instructions were very straightforward, and it's quick to put together. I dislike how big the completed garment is compared to the body measurements for your usual size.
Fabric Used: Some type of rayon.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: Even though my usual size in patterns translates to a 12, I've started to realize that I really need a 10. This pattern is rated for X-Small, Small, and Medium. The Medium is a 12 -14, and when I looked at the final garment dimensions, I decided I needed a 10, so I cut the Small. The finished garment was a bit too boxy for me, so I altered the shirt by curving it in at the sides until it had enough shape.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I would sew it again, but definitely with better shaping. I'm thinking about trying it again by modeling the shape after an existing shirt I have and then doing the rest from the pattern. I do wonder how it would have hung had I made the size 12, but it seems like it would have just been too big. I would recommend it to beginning sewers as an easy project, and to advanced sewers who can modify it to fit them how they want it to.
Conclusion: This is a very easy pattern for a quick project. The tie neck feature looks really cute when finished, although you do have to fold it over when wearing it so it doesn't sit super high on your neck. Upon closer inspection of the pattern envelope, it looks like that's how it's meant to be worn since the model has hers folded over as well. It's just a bit too boxy for me, so some alterations are needed to make it a bit more flattering.
