We've just been told we are to be Grandparents in January 2014, so what better excuse for some baby sewing.
DDIL doesn't want to know what she's having, so anything for the baby needs to be a generic colour and theme.
I thought I'd check my stash before rushing out to buy any fabric. I rummaged through the fabric that had been given me by my mother before she passed away and found 2metres of lilac flannel ... enough to make 2 bunnyrugs.
I folded the fabric in half and cut 2 rugs 115cm x 1metre. I double folded and pressed a 1cm hem on all four sides.
Then it was time to head to the embroidery machine. One of the bunnyrugs has an appliqued sleeping baby kangaroo (joey), the other has an embroidered koala. As both DS and DDIL love where they live right beside a National park, I figured these designs would be appropriate.
