Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Instructions were succinct but made sense. I didn't have too much trouble following them.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I liked the style but I think my material choice didn't do the pattern justice. I used a taffeta/poly mix for the gores and think it would have been much better with a liquid satin or something that drapes better. The inside is neat with a well drafted lining.
Wool for the main part and taffeta/poly for the gores.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I ordered the wrong size! Entirely my fault and the StyleArc team were really helpful in guiding me through sizing down. Even so, the skirt still looked too big and I ended up taking a lot out of the side seams which has altered the hang.
I hemmed it in line with the instructions but it looks a lot shorter than on the pattern envelope. Not at all the willowy, swishy look I was hoping for.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I would recommend the pattern as it is well designed and would work with the right fabric but I think it will be a while before I give this another go (if I ever do!). It was a lot of work and the final effect just isn't that great.
I look like a mermaid - bad fabric choice and style for me!
