Appropriate for the Victorian period 1837 -1899.
Sizes 6 to 40. The Dore Corset has B, C, and D Cup. The Silverado Corset has bust gores for cup size A through 4D! But don't use your bra size to choose which gore to use. Use the Truly Victorian link I have in the conclusion to choose your size.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yup.
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions are wonderful and I love the extra details on period and such included in the pattern.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the length and once i figured out the size I should cut I loved the fit. I get great waist definition and it works as a modern over clothes corset as well as period undergarment.
Fabric Used: I used silk dupioni underlined with black coutil. Match made in heaven. I love coutil.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I will be sewing it again. I only have one corset at the moment and I'd like to make several more corsets, like a Thor inspired and a Battlestar Galactica officers uniform as a corset.
Conclusion: I wrote up some more stuff on my blog but the one big tip I think is worth mentioning over and over is to follow the Truly Victorian suggestions on what size to choose. Very helpful, especially if you have a larger bust like I do.
