Infants' bibs and diaper covers
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
It sure did!
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Very. I had a quick glance at the instructions and then winged it from there. It's pretty straight-forward.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
The pattern says to use batting for the inside of the bib. I have never quilted anything before and I think it would take a long time to dry. I used waterproof PUL for the middle layer instead.
Cotton print, double gauze, cotton shirting, PUL.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Using PUL instead of batting.
The pattern calls for 1/4 inch double fold bias tape but that doesn't sound right. I think it should probably be 1/2 inch. In the instructions for making your own binding, it says to cut 38 mm strips.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, definitely. I still need to work on my binding skills but this pattern is great for creating a home-made gift for a new baby.
I found the binding a bit tricky but otherwise, this was a really simple pattern with lots of different variations.
