Pattern Description: STACIE JEAN JACKET: Great Jean Jacket sitting on the high hip with flattering shaping through the body. The sleeve features a deep hem so can be worn turned up for a casual look.
Pattern Sizing: This pattern is not multi-sized. Sizes available are 6 - 8 - 10 - 12 - 14 - 16 - 18 - 20 - 22 - 24 - 26 - 28 -30 but you only get the one size in the envelope. I made a size 12.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions, as with all Style Arc patterns are fairly minimal, and consist of a list of construction steps. They do provide a detailed diagram for the top stitching.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the flattering cut of the jacket. It's not at all boxy. I love all the top stitching and the way it enhances the curves of the panels. I love the way it fitted, straight out of the envelope without any pattern alterations. My dislikes were minimal: the sleeves needed to be longer, and I don't like where the front of the collar joins the neckline (I may have done this wrong).
Fabric Used: A medium weight denim 97% cotton and 3% spandex, purchased from my local Bargain Box Fabrics. It was an unusual purple on one side and navy on the reverse side.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None for this jacket but for the next one I will definitely lengthen the sleeves.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I think I will definitely sew this jacket again. I would love one in every colour of the rainbow. And yes, I would recommend this pattern.
Conclusion: I love my new Jeans Jacket. You can see more photos and details on my blog Sew, Jean Margaret
