|Pattern Description: |
Several tops with ruffles and an optional ruffled sleeve. I basically used view E with View C sleeve.
Multi-sized. I had wanted to find a simple knit pattern. This is actually sized for wovens, but it worked okay how I did it.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
No, because I redesigned it.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
As on my other review of this pattern, I neglected to glance at directions and missed that there was a band. I actually ended up making a band on this one, but not on purpose.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I liked the ruffle down the front and the fluttery sleeve.
My only dislike was it was a bit fussy to make the neckline ruffle.
From my stash. I wish you could FEEL fabric on these reviews. It is so soft! I think it's an interlock knit.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I wanted to make a swingy top with a front edge somewhat veed. I traced the patter, the split and closed the dart for it to swing out and have no dart. Then I modified the hem.
I decided to make the same bias binding they recommend for finishing the sleeve. With this being knit and very stretchy, I just cut it like ribbing. I applied it to the opening BEFORE making the side seam. It nds up looking more RTW.
Anyway, as I was doing that to the neckline, before I pressed it, I realized it looked very good as a ribbed band, so I left it and did not top-stitch.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I have. It's a nice pattern. Just be aware it has a band at the neckline
