|This pattern had the shape of bodice I wanted, so I used this to make a summer dress with a circular skirt.|
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
The bodice did, I changed the skirt.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
I didn't really use them.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
It's a lovely simple bodice shape with a clean, pleasing line.
A cotton dress fabric, a little lighter than quilting cotton, with a fab English seaside design.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I sized it up slightly from a 20 to a 22, put a circular skirt on instead of the straight skirt, added pockets and a bow. I also piped the neckline, armholes, waist and pocket openings. I didn't bother putting a zip in.
See here for discussion of how to pipe it:
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Definitely. It has lots of potential applications.
I was really pleased with how this came out and every time I wear it strangers smile and comment on it. It's a great summer dress.
