A boys only sewing pattern book including 24 projects. I made the "Out On The Town" jacket. A little collarless dress jacket.
Sizes in the book from 6m-6-7 years
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Well, I think they were. But I've made jackets for my daughter from other patterns before, so I didn't pay as close attention to these. They seemed to be pretty straightforward.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I was excited to make my little guy a light little jacket to take on our vacation. It dresses him up a bit, but not a heavy layer. And I love that this is a suit type dressy jacket that I get to make fun in a cool print.
Linen/Cotton blend by Kokka for the exterior, and lined with 100% cotton print from my stash.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I didn't make any changes. But I could see using snaps and letting this jacket be reversible. I am thinking of making one (along with the heartbreaker pants from the book) and adding a crest to the jacket for a more formal little outfit.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
It's a simple sewing project, and a cute jacket. I may make it as part of a little boy suit at some point. I like this book and so far recommend!
I have a few more pics on my blog at http://www.delilahsmomma.blogspot.com/2013/07/hello-july-last-month-our-family-went.html
It's nice to have a "go-to" book of simple boys clothing patterns. This jacket c an be dressed up or down and is suitable for a beginner sewist to dress a little man!
