|Pattern Description: |
Close-fitting, pullover tops have collar variations and narrow hem. C and D: button trim. Designed for medium weight moderate stretch knits. SUGGESTED FABRICS: Jerseys, Cotton Knits, Sweater Knits.
I sewed a 10 through the shoulders, a 12 at the bust, and a 14 at the hips. It fits loosely on me even though these are my usual sizes in the Big 4. The fabric has good recovery and I did take precautions to avoid stretching. So, you may want to check sizing before cutting as this pattern might run a bit large. front
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
yes, except for the collar being on the opposite side
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Very easy instructions and very clear. The collar comes together easily, especially if you mark the pattern pieces I deviated in one place from the instructions-I sewed the sleeves in flat.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love the collar, and after making this top, think it would be really cute if the collar was sewn in some contrasting fabric.
A novelty knit from JA's Red Tag section with polyester predominating. I have had fun with this yardage-I made this top and a babydoll nightgown. It's difficult to work with but I think pretty cute and it is very, very soft and comfy. I think I paid $2.50/yd. That's pretty terrific for a few fun pieces in your wardrobe. fabric
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
None, intentionally. I did, however, manage to reverse the collar, and it ended up on my right side rather than the left, as the pattern indicates. If this type of detail matters to you, make sure to mark the FRONT and the BACK of the collar. Otherwise, have at it.
One style change I made was to not include buttons as my fabric is busy already. I will definitely include buttons when using a more stable knit, and one which has a quieter print/texture.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, I am going to sew it again. The fit is very good, and I like the draped collar. I think it will be cute in a stripe, and I'd like to play a bit with stripe placement on the collar. collar
This is a fun pattern, easy to sew, and results in a comfy, well fitting tee. What are you waiting for? fall outfit
