Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?Yes, very much.
Were the instructions easy to follow? They were very good. I tend to skip around which sometimes causes me more work. If you follow them in order, which I will do next time, they are good.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? My husband liked the retro look of this shirt. He also prefers a no stand collar for his casual shirts. I liked the KS patterns and instructions.
Fabric Used:Stretch broadcloth
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:No changes, except for putting bias tape along the back inside collar for a little design interest. I also merged sizes, XL in the shoulders and 2XL in the body and everywhere else.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?Yes, definitely! The trouble is finding good fabric for men's shirts. I've been scouring the internet looking. I originally purchase a linen blend from Hancocks that I thought would be nice but even after washing it 5 times and drying it, it was rough.
Conclusion: I didn't plan on sewing for my husband because I'm always so critical of my work. I kept telling him he was under no obligation to wear it and that I wouldn't be offended. He kept cracking jokes about the episode on The Cosby Show where Denise makes Theo a shirt. I laughed and said, don't worry, it won't be THAT bad!!!
I decided to try to make him something after shopping with him and realizing what limited choices there are in the 2XL or more sizes. He should get to wear what he likes and not be restricted by size choices! He is very happy with is shirt and I'd love to make him as many as he wants!!! He took it with him this weekend for his daughter's dance festival. I will add more closeup pictures later.
