Pattern Description: Two skirts. View A has three tiered flounces with a wide 4-piece waistband; View B has two tiered flounces with a narrower 2-piece waistband.
Pattern Sizing: 6-16
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? yes, except I used the waistband from view A with the shorter skirt length of view B
Were the instructions easy to follow? yes
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? It really sets off a small waist! Click Here
Fabric Used: The skirt itself is a black raw silk with black bemberg rayon lining (pattern is not lined); the waistband is covered with silk georgette; flounces are just silk georgette.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: Used the waistband from view A with the two flounces of view B; lengthened the underskirt 4 inches - since the silk georgette is a little on the sheer side and my DD has very long legs, I wanted to be sure she was decent when sitting down. Also added a lining so it slides on easier. Also, at her request, I added 1/2 inch horsehair braid to the hems of the flounces - makes it nice and flouncy which she loves.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? This is actually the second skirt (the first was a wearable muslin) off this pattern - two is enough but it really is cute. Click Here
Conclusion: This skirt was fun to make. We'd had it for about two years waiting for the right fabric and knew this silk print was it. My DD has long legs and a tiny waist and it really looks good on her.
