Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? I think so. DayGlo
Were the instructions easy to follow? As they are for Burda.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I liked the front draping and the straps.
Fabric Used:This was a Jersey knit that I ordered more than a year or even two years ago. I think it was from Fabric.com
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:While I initially followed the instructions for the elastic in the waist, once it was finished, I didn't like how it looked. So I removed it. I would probably always want to wear a belt with it anyway and the belt blouses the dress the way I liked.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I might make this again. It was incredibly easy and I love how the straps are ruched and fabric covered. I made it while watching Project Runway. I had cut it out a week before but hadn't gotten to it. I always try to have something in progress while PR is on so I feel like I'm a part of the show! (Crazy huh?)
Conclusion: This turned out to be kinda cute. When I bought the fabric, I was sure it was destined to be muslin because I thought it was way to "colorful". And it almost was muslin a couple times, but never got to it. So, when I decided I wanted a quick sundress to wear when I was going to D.C. in July, I found the Burda pattern in my stash and wasn't it something that the dress on the pattern was the same color as this fabric. My DD probably thinks its still too much, but that's ok, I like it. And I'm wearing it to a cook-out tomorrow! In case the lights go out, I can help folks find their way!
