Pattern Description: "Misses' vintage 1940's tops have darted waistline. A, B with bias-bound jewel neck has long or short puffed sleeves; kimono sleeve C, D has buttoned shoulders and jewel or scoop neck. American Sewing Guild." (From Simplicity.com)
Pattern Sizing: 30.5-44 inch bust.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? After looking at how my version came out, I understand why there was no photo of this look.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? It's really not flattering on me. I need to remember never to make kimono sleeves. The buttons are also really far back, and I think that the facing is something I'd have to fight with.
Fabric Used: Linen in a lovely periwinkle blue. Both things I made from this cut ended up being disappointments; I think that the fabric was cursed.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? No! I might recommend it to people I really didn't like, or those whose figure type is different enough from mine that it would flatter them.
Conclusion: If you have this pattern, use the other view.
