Were the instructions easy to follow? I did't follow them exactly, the dress is very simple.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love everything about this pattern, it has adorable features! It is not the usual empire waist V-neckline dress, it is more interesting and refined. The waist band lowers at the back creating a more fitted silhoutte. The neckline band is a little high at the neck creating a stand up collar look (you can see here and here. And last but not least there is zero gapping at the bust allthough the two bands are not sewn together!
Fabric Used: a thin and very drapey jersey lycra for the main pieces of the dress and faux leather for the bands. Burda suggests elastic or stable fabrics, but if you are interested in making this dress in a stable fabric be careful about the size: mine was very fitted at the bust, though I traced my usual 36. If the fabric wasn’t stretch I wouldn’t be able to wear it!
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
No alterations except that I didn't interface the inner bands because of the thickness of the faux leather.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I love the pattern even more now that I have used it! I want to sew it again as many times as possible! Of course I recommend it to others but be careful of the size: if you want to make it in a non stretchy fabric it might be tight!
Conclusion: I'm glad I gave this pattern a chance!
