|Pattern Description: Sweet Gathered Sundress pattern, perfect for swanning about at that lazy brunch or afternoon tea! This Sweet dress has a fitted lined bodice, princess line seams, Full gathered skirt that falls to the knee and curved pockets for your hands! With an invisible zipper opening at the back (they are easier and quicker than a lapped zip!).|
Pattern Sizing: XS-L. I made a Medium.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, but mine looks dressier because of the silk fabric I used.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes! Everything was very easy to follow and there were lots of pictures, except for some reason the invisible zipper part was confusing. If you know how to sew an invisible zipper it's not an issue, but I hadn't done one in a long time and I had to get youtube help since I didn't understand the pattern instructions and the pictures didn't show much.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like everything about this pattern. It is flattering, can be dressy or casual depending on your fabric choice, and extremely fun to wear. It's a real attention getter!
Fabric Used: Italian hand-painted silk from Emmaonesock.com
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None whatsoever. I just hand sewed the pocket edges, waistband lining, and bottom hem instead of machine sewing. I probably wouldn't have if my thread matched the fabric better and it weren't as dressy, but I didn't want to ruin the dress with lines of white stitching everywhere.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes and YES! I am going to make a lot of these!
Conclusion: Sew it! You won't regret it!
