This funky yet functional knit dress has a fitted bodice, scooped banded neckline, a curved flared knee-length skirt, and options for trimmed cap sleeves, or banded ¾ length sleeves or long sleeves. It's designed to flatter the figure with a waistline that hits at the natural waist and a skirt that gently skims over the lower waist and hips.
The pattern goes up to a size 8. I sewed a 7 with larger waist and hips. Don't let the sizing fool you...the high bust measurements go up to 44" and the high waist goes to 38".
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
By golly it did!
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes! Instructions were included for beginners like me and for people who didn't need step by step pictures.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
It is so easy!
A knit. I don't know what it is. I lined it with a similar jersey knit because my floral fabric was sheer. I'm a knit idiot.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
My measurements made me a perfect size 7 but I needed to add more at my waist and hips so that it wasn't super tight around my generous rear. I also added two inches to the length because my knees are shy (they like coverage). I lined it as well since my fabric was sheer so that required some straying from the directions.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I would love to sew it again! It was a wonderful pattern to use and the dress is so comfortable! If I made enough, I could wear one every day of the week.
