|Pattern Description: Maxi dress with drape neckline. I sewed view D|
Pattern Sizing: Size 6-14 I cut and sewed a size 12.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes- I did a few alterations for a better fit. (Added a band under the bust line- but the size I cut was perfect!)
Were the instructions easy to follow? This drape neckline was so easy!
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the draped neckline.
Fabric Used: I used a double knit and then added a shear fabric over the double knit. If you click on the next picture you can see a better photo of both the material(s) I used and the drape neckline.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: Two things- I did a double layer of fabric so I could have the lovely shear fabric. I also added a band under the bust line. I just feel like the dress is a better fit with that added band.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I actually think I might make the shorter version with this same draped neckline. And- I also really like the halter style (view E or F) that other reviewers have made.
Conclusion: After you click on my photo- go to the next photo for a close up view of the neckline and material (and my chicken neck!) I made this dress for an upcoming cruise. I really wasn't expecting this dress to look so formal- I was actually going for a more casual dress... But fear not! "Formal Night" is now taken care of- thanks to this easy, easy dress!
