Girls jumpsuit with elastic waist and neckline, shoulder straps in shorts or full length pants. Wraparound skirt also included.
This pattern is dated 1979.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Easy peasy. This was a very quick project to put together.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like the fact that the pattern was single size. This is one of the main reasons I use a lot of vintage patterns for my kids clothes. I also like that it is a cute style without being too prissy. I thought that the shorts might have been too short, but they ended up being just right for my daughter who is 6. No dislikes at all.
Refashioned cotton chambray skirt from the 1990's.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
No changes to the pattern at all. I did cut the front bodice so as to retain the front button placket from the skirt.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, there will be a few more versions of this for this summer. And while this pattern is 30 odd years old, it is a fairly classic style so I am pretty sure there would be some modern versions of this style available.
ETA: I have now made version 2 of this pattern, this time as a cute cami using some vintage check cotton and ric rac trim.
I love it and my daughter loves it which makes it a win for me!
