|Pattern Description: |
Infant panties (diaper cover) and tops. I made view F panties with ruffle skirt. This was part of a new baby gift for my grand niece, so I also appliqued a flower from the fabric onto a onesie, and sewed a bib and travel changing pad/bag to go with. Click here for changing pad/bag review.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes. Click here for photo of panties.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
They were standard commercial instructions.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
The pattern did not give measurements for waist and leg elastic. While I understand that babies come in all shapes, this was for a gift and I didn't have the baby here to measure. Average or suggested measurements would be very helpful.
Quilting weight cotton
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Used french seams on skirt (ruffle) side seams for a more finished look.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, it's a basic pattern.
This was a great base for a new baby gift. For the onesie, I cut out a flower from the remaining fabric, used a fusible web to place it and then stitched it in place. I also created a "Hello, my name is" tag which I printed on a t-shirt transfer to make a personalized onesie. Click here for onesies photo. The travel changing pad is a great accessory to make any bag a diaper bag. The bag holds wipes and a a couple diapers, with an attached water resistant pad that folds and is secured with an elastic strap. See bag review. And, of course, baby needs a bib!
