Pattern Description: Suitable for work or play, The Islander Shirt has a relaxed, up-scale island look that can be dressed up or down, it's all about being comfortable, sophisticated and of course, island appropriate.
Pattern Sizing: XS to 4X. I chose to sew a medium based on measuring one of his shirts in his closet.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I loved how quickly it sewed together.
Fabric Used: Italian cotton shirting from Fabric Mart Fabrics.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I increased the shoulder/neck edges by 1/2 inch on the front shoulder seam and on the yokes. That required me to increase the collar and collar band by two inches to accommodate the wider neckline. Lastly, I shortened the shirt length by 1.5 inches.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes. Definitely.
Conclusion: My husband says this is his favorite shirt now. I can't wait to make him another one (but I'm going to sew myself something first)!
