|Pattern Description: |
Part of the "Project Runway" series of patterns. Misses knit dress in three lengths with bodice variations.
4 - 20
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Were the instructions easy to follow?
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like the different "design elements" you can add to your design - change the sleeves, change the neckline, lengthen or shorten the dress easily. I particularly like the sleeve style - very flowy and a good option for someone not very well endowed (myself!).
Main circle fabric is a rayon, midriff is linen, piping is quilting cotton and lining polyester.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
This pattern is intended for knit fabric and I had a woven on hand that I wanted to use. Given the lack of stretch of my material, I sized up to a size 12 and made a muslin of just the bodice. I needed to add 3/8 inch to the midriff portion only, to make it fit. Due to the gathering in the other pieces, I could still use the size 12 and just adjust the gathers accordingly.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I fun style with lots of design options. I somehow feel that mine ended up resembling a circus tent though - due to my fabric choice. See more views and matching earrings on my blog
