This toddler pattern is for shorts and a tee shirt and an easy tracksuit. The tracksuit has a hooded jacket and long pants. I have only made the hooded jacket. It is an 'easy' pattern that as very much a beginner I found very straight forward to use and I was very happy with the finished product. The raglan sleeves made this especially quick and easy.
Toddler. I made a size 2 for my reasonably tall 18 month old girl. It is still a little big but she will grow into it nicely in the next couple of months.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, it looked like the drawing. However, the style of the finished product in the photo is much more sporting and boyish than the style I chose to make.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I loved how quick and easy it was to make a great looking little jacket.
I found it a little tricky to get the edges nice and tight where the front self-facing folds over the hood and again over the waist band. I ended up with little peaks that stuck out a little. I would pull it in closer next time when I am basting so as to eliminate this little peak. It isn't too noticeable - probably more so where the waistband joins as the top-stitching along the zip tend to emphasise it.
French terry with jersey ribbing for the cuffs and waistband. I also chose to line the hood which is additional to the pattern and I used 100% cotton quilting fabric.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I lined the hood with 100% cotton quilting fabric. Due to the exposed seam along the hood/neckline I chose to cover this with a small strip of bias binding. I LOVE the professional finish this gives the jacket as you do see that seam when the hood is back.
I chose to leave off the stripes down the arms.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, yes, yes! I loved this pattern. It was quick and easy and honestly it just looks so cute for a relatively small amount of time and effort.
A great pattern that looks lovely on and I can imagine using it for either a boy or girl.
