Toddler dress, top and pants. I made view A - dress with the ruffle band at the bottom.
I made a size 2 for my tallish 18 month old. It is a little big under the arms for her at the moment so she should grow into it nicely by the time is a little closer to 2 years old.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes! It is gorgeous!
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes! I loved making this pattern as I have made it a couple of times now and am getting the hang of gathering! This time around it was much quicker and easier.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love the little gathered style. It makes it look so nice and breezy for a little girl especially for hot summer days playing outside.
I found it a little difficult to get the facing to line up with the side seams. Mine stick out a little. Perhaps this is something I can work on for next time! I also found ironing under the facing before I had actually attached it meant that it didn't line up with the gathers in preparation for hand-sewing the facing down.
100% cotton quilting fabric. Pink birdies for the main with a deep pink contrast for the facing and the ruffle band. I also made my own bias tape from the contrast fabric to match and I am really happy I did! I am happy with the way this finishes the whole dress.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes! I love this little dress. So cute, fun and little girlish! Another pattern that lets great fabric shine with little fuss.
This is a fun, breezy little dress. Perfect for summer.
