|Pattern Description:Halter with bodice band. Skirt options for a long or below-knee length with tulle or bubbled skirt.Pattern Description: |
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, except that I attached it to a 1/2 circle skirt instead of the skirt in the pattern.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
I didn't follow the instructions. The instructions call for the bodice/ skirt fashion fabric and lining to be basted together. Instead of following the instruction, I sew the fashion fabric and lining right side together at the neckline and armhole, trimmed and turned right side out.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Though I had to alter many parts, the style is beautiful and versatile.
Fabric Used: Cotton quilting.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
When I tried size 6 muslin, the neckline had 0.5" gap, and the gather for the bust was too much. Midriff was way too long. Waist was too loose. I decided to adjust the bust part, shorten midriff, move side zipper to back and remove the excessive amount at the back.
I drew three lines from neckline to B.P, from armhole to B.P, and gather to B.P.
Adjustment for neck gaping and gather.
removing the excessive amount
Midriff was cut 1.25~2"
Then I modified side back length I attached the finished bodice to the self-drafted 1/2 circle skirt.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, the weather is now a bit cool, so perhaps next year.
I love the finished shape. I had not worn a halter dress before since I couldn't find any halter dress that fits me. I had often wanted to wear this type of dress, so it was worth altering the pattern and sewing it.
