|Pattern Description: Simplicity pullover dress in two lengths, tunic top and simple clean front elastic waist pull-on pants.|
Pattern Sizing: XXS-XXL.
I made the size Small, but maybe could have made the XS. I am not 100% sure yet about the fit of this dress as I have only quickly tried it on for fitting purposes before sewing up the side seams and hem, so we'll see how the Small works out for me when I really wear it out.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Almost exactly since the model on the cover of this pattern envelope is in this dress in white, just like I made view B, the shorter sleeveless dress.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, the instructions were very well written and easy to follow.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like the simple shape and slight drape of this pattern for a dress or tunic top.
I was going for the LWD look that I found on Pinterest and pinned to my LWD board shown on one of my favorite ladies:LWD on Kate Middleton
Plus, I like the little shoulder pleat detail to give the dress some shaping and detail interest.
Fabric Used: Silk twill from Mood Fabrics. The fabric came labeled as silk charmeuse, but I washed it a couple of times and it came out of the wash not exactly as shiny and silky like they shipped it to me (maybe it was dry clean only?), but it was still very soft, drapey with a sueded hand and felt like a washed silk twill, so I'm going with that.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: No alterations to the pattern, but I made the side seams french seams and eliminated interfacing on the facing pieces to avoid stiffness in this area.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, I would sew it again as it was a pretty quick sew if I were in need of a dress of this style. I recommend it to others for this dress and other views that come with this pattern.
Conclusion: Great little pattern to have in your stash for a quick dress, top or pant.
