Maggy London Twist Top. I made View A.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Were the instructions easy to follow?
The pattern is well marked and the directions are clear once you understand them, but don't be surprised if you stare and stare at how to make the twist. The directions are correct, I just had a hard time visualizing it.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Two pieces. Easy to adjust length. Goes together quickly
However, I disliked the V-shaped back (others loved that part) and I disliked the excess of fabric you end up with in front below the twist.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I followed along with other reviewers by making a regular-shaped back, not a V-back. I also took other reviewer's advice and heavily trimmed the front middle pieces to try to reduce the huge amount of fabric that this pattern wants you to use for the twist. MUCH less fabric still makes a perfectly acceptable twist!
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
This was my second time sewing it; I wanted to make a top. So I liked it enough to make two things from it, but I don't know that I will keep coming back to it.
Easy to make - worth a try to see if it's flattering you.
