Pattern Sizing: XXS-L and hats in three sizes 17"(s), 18" (m), 19" (l)
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? I made the overalls and they did other than the changes I made (which are difficult to see).
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions were good, included all steps, and progressed logically.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?I liked how simple the overall's parts were was and how quickly they went together; yet they have some style. The pattern runs a little big which works for me since this fabric is better suited for fall.
Fabric Used: I was lucky enough to find two matching lightweight cotton twill remnants in the Joann's bin in a nice solid red and a complimentary dino print.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:I've never used snap tape and it was a bit costly at any rate so I used some KAM snaps that I had on hand for diaper covers. I was worried that they might be too bulky but they worked so well that I will use them again on my future baby clothes that I make. If this were for a newborn or small baby/lighter or knit fabric I would probably use the metal press in or sew in snaps.
To reinforce the inseam to withstand repeated diaper changes I used some grosgrain ribbon which also worked to finish the inseam (I only had narrow ribbon in my stash. Next time I will use something wider). Then, using a readymade pair of overalls as a template I marked the snap location which worked out to 2cm from the center seam for the first snap and 5cm for subsequent snaps. I applied the cuff snaps on the back of the legs last, making sure that the cuff hems were fairly even with each other.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I am already planning more of these - they are cute and easy to make. When I first saw the pattern I was on the fence - I thought the gathered cuff made the overalls look to girly but I hope the dino fabric will help with that. The cuff also has the practical purpose of helping to keep the slightly long pants from tripping little feet.
Conclusion: I like this pattern and plan on making the jacket in matching red microfleece for fall and winter. Another view here .
