|Pattern Description: |
The Tikatuly Shapla Ruffle skirt is a PDF tutorial I purchased from Etsy on how to create multi-tiered ruffle skirts. No pattern pieces, just measurements for your ruffle strips, elastic, and main body of the skirt.
0-3 months-11/12 years. I made the size 6.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes. The pdf includes lots of pictures every step of the way.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Really cute little skirt. Nothing to dislike.
Cotton and Denim to match the dress and blouse I made.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
None, but next time I will sew a smaller size skirt. My baby is 10 but very petite. I had to take it in a bit to get it to fit. I thought the exposed surged ends match the colors and overall feel of the skirt, but she includes instructions on how to make a small hem.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes! If she wants another one I will make it.
It's a cute tutorial with all the math figured out for you. There are very clear pictures every step of the way of construction. She includes bonus tips such as how to make the asymmetrical skirt like I did, how to get your machine to ruffle fabric for you, and how to construct the skirt with french seams.
