Thanks for the compliments! I think its called a Washi dress because of the fabric used for the original garment by the designer as the fabric had strips on it resembling washi tape.

I haven't heard of this pattern before. I wonder why it is called the washi dress. I do love the idea of the shirring and your version looks super cute.
