|Pattern Description: |
Close-fitting top with pocket and lacing detail and stand collar.
Custom sized using the extended fitting options available on the Russian site.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, very much so.
More pictures are here.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
I didn't bother to look at them - they are Google translated Russian.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I liked the custom fit and the well-drafted sleeves. It has a lot of ready-to-wear detail which looks great but required a bit of extra effort to complete.
I have made a wall-of-text post with some general comments about sewing with Lekala here.
Cotton in three textures.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I tweaked the fit by adding a sway back adjustment and a bust-shaping dart in the armscye. There was quite a bit of excess fabric pooling there.
I omitted the grommets and lace-up detail and raised the modesty insert.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, this was kind-of a wearable muslin, so I want to make it up in a more expensive fabric. I recommend it.
A nice top!
