Mr project description: warm winter coat for friend's small pet dog to stop him getting cold. Must be practical, and not look too fussy (am a firm believer in the last requirement!). I went for version E.
Extra small through to medium. The medium was the right size for the chihuahua I was sewing for.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
A little different, I went for less decoration and quilted in one direction only.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
To be honest, most of the instructions were about additions I didn't want to add, so I can't really attest to their helpfulness. The pattern was however delightfully easy to cut out and sew (one piece, hooray).
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Easy, you cant use scrap wool fabric leftover from other projects making it a very cheap and quick project.
Wool fabric leftover from a toilet dress and jacket I am making. Wool batting leftover from a quilt project.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Omitted attachment for lead. The dog will be wearing a collar so thought this was a bit fussy. Only quilted in one direction, the fabric was stiff enough anyway, and I thought it would get a bit visually too much if I quilted in the other direction.
I used purchased bias binding instead of making my own. Much quicker and easier.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Very easy to sew, and would certainly recommend as an easy christmas present for any dog owner friends.
