|It was really difficult to rate this pattern since I'm not sure if the results were due to my body shape or if it was a flaw in the pattern drafting. While the neckline in the picture doesn't look low because of the way I arranged the drape, it really dips to the middle of my bra!|
Pattern Description: Fitted, pullover tops have hem variations and narrow hem, sleeve variations, draped neckline or pleated neckline, bias front and forward shoulder seams.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?Yes but I put my sleeves in flat then sewed up the side seams.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The bias front gives a very nice fit in the body of the shirt and I liked the idea of the collar in the back neckline with a drape in the front. However, the neckline seems to pull back off the neck and the drape is WAY too deep for me.
Fabric Used:Unknown lawn like fabric from my stash that has been in the attic about 15-20 years. Oops!
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:None
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?Probably not, but I really like the style and would try to make a higher drape if the collar didn't pull back away from my neck.
Conclusion: This was going to be a wearable muslin and I was hoping to be able to it as one I could wear while mentoring (a 4th grade boy), but if I bend over at all it would give quite a show. The comfort factor just isn't there and I'm too old to want to suffer for fashion. I would have put up with unbelievable torture for fashion years ago but now I want to live comfortably (ok, within reason--I'd put on a full girdle in a heartbeat if a really knockout dress called for it and I had the shape I did 40 years ago).
