|Pattern Description: Toddlers' vest, top, dress, skirt and pants. Pullover top and dress have a neck band, elasticized sleeves and back button closing. I made the tunic.|
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?Well they used solid bows, and I used a contrast that matched the leggings, but otherwise, yes it did.
Were the instructions easy to follow?Mostly. The knot for the bow was a little confusing. The pattern is a small square in a large square, Some of the info was on the small square, like the word fold line, but the rest of it was in the large square. Well this large square was larger than the bow itself, so I contacted McCall's to check on this. It was as I suspected, the small square is the pattern, all the rest in the large square is because info didn't fit onto the small square. So if you make this the pattern is the small square inside the large square, but the info is is outside this little square. Other than that is was easy.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? When I saw this pattern I loved the little girl model on the front. The pattern was for knits and the style was cute, which I liked
Fabric Used: I used a Michael Miller cotton lycra knit I got at the local shop. It the same pattern as the leggings I made for a different review, but a different color.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:I changed the bows to the coordinating leggings. As I am really liking this new snap buisness (Snap Setter) I wanted to use snaps for the opening, but they didn't have a coordinating color, so I used buttons the same color as the bows.Back view:click here
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?I would sew it again and would definitely recommend it. Lots of design possibility with this.
Conclusion: I love the ruffles and the bows on this tunic, feminine but not to frilly. Great separates for a child.
