|Pattern Description: |
Loose fitting pull-over shift dress
8-24 divided into 2 pattern groupings - runs large!
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, after fitting.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, although the way the shoulder seams and facings connect is not as tidy as I would like.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Simple, easy to throw on summer dress! I like the design; my DD thought the angular front and high neckline looked strange.
A linen-cotton blend I picked up on sale at Joann's.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I took in the sides considerably, keeping the bust relatively unchanged since I am quite broad shouldered.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Maybe, from a softer fabric - the linen-blend is scratchy!
I love shift dresses for their simplicity and ease, and they remind me of my childhood, however the angular front facing and high neckline make this both unique, and for some, awkward. I may try a shift pattern that has a simple facing/neckline combo or I may just alter this pattern.
