Pattern Description: "This modern, slim-fitting t-shirt pattern is a wardrobe staple that can be sewn up with a crew-neck or a 1” henley placket and long or short sleeves. It would suit both fine or medium weight knits to create either a shirt or light sweater. The sleeves and hem can be turned and hemmed or finished with bands (a great option for beginner sewers!)."
Pattern Sizing: XS - XL
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I think the placket and the 'modern' or 'slim' or 'athletic' fit sets this t-shirt apart from other patterns on the market.
Fabric Used: I used a cotton/polester jersey for the main fabric (the grey & black stripe) and the contrast is a black viscose/elastane knit.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I removed 2 1/4″ from the length and shortened the sleeves by 4 inches (next time I'll add back 1 of those 4 inches!). I sewed the side and underarm seams with a 3/8″ seam allowance rather than the specified 5/8″ to allow for a little middle aged spread!
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I will be sewing this again (my sister-in-law has already placed an order on behalf of my eldest brother) and I would definitely recommend it to others.
Conclusion: I'm really proud of this make. It was my first placket and I made it in jersey! I've had quite a few people tell me that the henley looks RTW, which I take as a huge compliment!
