|Pattern Description: |
Misses’ Project Runway pattern collection skirts with design and length variation.
I made a view B with pockets and a waistband in knee length.
Pattern Sizing: D5 (4-12) I cut a size 4 (as I always do for Simplicity patterns) and found it to be on the small side.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
I think so.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yep, they were very easy to follow. I was particularly intrigued by the construction of the pocket along the invisible zipper, and to my surprise it worked quite well without too much effort.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I liked the timeless style of it, and how many variations it could lead to. I think it's an easy summer dress, and I love the pleats!
Fabric Used: Floral cotton, which was the leftover from my picnic dress
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
No design changes, as I was happy with the pattern. I had to reduce the depth of the pleats to improve the fit (I found the sizing a bit small on this, as I am typically happy with a size 4 fit for me when it comes to Simplicity patterns, and I don't think that I have expanded much since my last Simplicity project...), which I didn't mind, but I would recommend measuring the pattern before cutting.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I probably would, but I can sense autumn arriving, so it might have to be next year before I make another summery skirt...
I would recommend it to others, as it's simple to make, and a timeless design, but I would suggest double checking that the size is not too small.
Conclusion: A great pattern, and a wardrobe staple. I'm so excited to wear it!
