Pattern Description: Peplum Top and Straight Skirt
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? They were ok. I was confused by the inclusion of two different C pieces for the neckline.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The pattern itself is fine. I liked how the sizing works, very customized.
Fabric Used:A cotton knit. It turned out too heavy for this project.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: If I remake this top I would change the way the neck and arm bands are sewn on. I am just not a fan of attaching the bands before the garment is constructed and then having them finished when you sew up your major seams. While easy, I find it leaves fiddly bits of seam allowance poking out and looking rough.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I am undecided. I consider this project to be a wadder. As someone with hips, a peplum needs to lie fairly flat on me. The fabric needs to drape. My choice did not. I don't know if I feel like trying again.
Conclusion: So far, meh. Not for me. That said, I don't take construction failure well and may not be giving this style a fair shake. Maybe if I find a light knit with drape....
