Pattern Description: A free pattern from SBCC for a close fitting t-shirt for Petites. Whats not to love?
Pattern Sizing:XXS- M. I sewed a size Small but it is a little big on me, so I will sew XS next time. For reference I am 34" bust and wear a 10 in big 4 for tops.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, its a basic t-shirt pattern.
Were the instructions easy to follow? I didn't follow any instructions. I sewed the binding as a band because I wanted a little coverage in the neckline.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? As previous reviewers have mentioned taping this pattern was not intuitive. You have to butt the paper instead of overlapping it like we're used to and then fill in the gaps. Other than that, I have no dislikes. I can see myself using this pattern a lot!
Fabric Used: A very lightweight rayon lycra jersey from Fabric.com. I dislike this fabric. It has a slight metallic sheen on one side so I purposely sewed wrong side out. Even though I am on a fabric diet, I placed an order online on MoodFabrics.com for some good quality black rayon jersey. I mean c'mon, everybody needs that right?
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: The only alteration I did was to add an inch to the length after reading reviews that it is too short. For my next version I will also do a forward shoulder adjustment. Since I sewed a Small, it was too big for me, so I took it in from the sides.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Oh yeah! Many times.
