Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, except for my minor modifications.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Very easy to follow. The instructions guide you, caution you when to be careful (and why), and teach useful techniques.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love the modern, clean design for children. It gave me a great jumping off point.
Stretch cotton sateen and stretch cotton for the lining
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I added green self-made bias trim around the neckline, armscyes, and hem for a pop of color and to coordinate with a green trench coat.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I have already sewn the dress version in the other view, and I had a great experience and beautiful outcome with both versions. I can see this pattern being useful year-round in different fabrics as the seasons change. My baby looks cute and put-together while maintaining the ability to move around and play.
This is my first Oliver & S pattern, and I am quite impressed with the line. Not only did I get a wonderful product out of sewing it, but I definitely learned new techniques that I can apply to future projects--which you can't always say about a pattern!
