A strapless full length gown with back ties Pattern Sizing:
You buy Marfy in single size patterns, I used a 44 Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
It did absolutely! Were the instructions easy to follow?
There are no instructions with Marfy but they have a lot of notations on the actual pattern What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I thought this was gorgeous, its actually just the wearable muslin, but I think its a great casual summer dress in this simple cotton Fabric Used:
Non stretch woven cotton Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I too six inches off the back ties because of a fabric shortage but because this was the actual muslin left everything else as is Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I am definitely going to sew this again, I think its gorgeous. What I particularly like was that by using the ties as a halter it completely changed the look of the dress, making it much more casual. If you choose to wear it that way permanently you could leave all the bodice boning out I think, as the ties and the tight fitting back with zipper would make it a good fit with a strapless bra instead. Conclusion:
Love this, it can be as dressy as you like or as laid back....its a very straighforward make. The pattern is heavily marked with notations and piece descriptions. It is beautifully drafted and fits together nicely.
