Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, more or less. I made a couple of changes.
Were the instructions easy to follow? I found the instructions were easy and simple. A beginner would be able to do this dress.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like the racer style back and how comfy this is to wear
Fabric Used: I used a cotton jersey which worked well with this design but I so picked the wrong "print" for this dress. As you can see I used a wide Aztec-like stripe which would look far better used for a maxi dress, not a short dress like this with several pattern pieces!
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: Several reviews I read on this dress said they took length out of the bodice so there was a lesser blouson effect. I do NOT like fullness around my middle at all, so I did the same and cut 2" off the bodice length. I regretted it. For me it would have looked better had I left the length as it was. I also lengthened the skirt by about 4". And even with this it still came out rather short, but I like it.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I would love to sew this again. Simply because its a great pattern, I love the design and its comfy to wear. I just ruined it with my choice of fabric, so I would make it again in a plain fabric next time. I cut the yoke and pockets out horizontal instead of vertical but I still feel the detail is not obvious enough because the pattern of this fabric is too big and busy for this little dress.
I would definitely recommend this pattern, its a great little dress for holidays, that can also be glammed up with heels for an evening look also. Just don't use a big print fabric like I did!
