|Pattern Description: Boxers - many sizes|
Pattern Sizing: I've actually made this pattern twice for my husband. His waist is about 36" and he wears usually a 36 or 38, depending on how he wants them to fit. The first time I made this, I used a 36, size W, and it was ridiculously large. The second time, I made a 34, size V and it's perfect.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, these instructions are awesome. They create a neat looking placket at the front.
I may play around with the waistband next time. this pattern has the elastic visible on the inside and that's not my favorite look. I prefer the fabric to fold over the elastic and encase it completely. I don't know if my husband has ever noticed or cares.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Easy boxers. I've made boxers for him before from his store bought ones, but I really wanted this pattern for the instructions on how to do the placket. The pattern has you put a button on there, but he prefers that I leave it off.
Fabric Used: Cotton for both, the first pair was in an Oklahoma State University print, the second is Star Wars.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None, once I got the size right.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Absolutely. This is the boxer pattern that I will go back to again and again. I actually have some flannel picked out for his next pair (in a Cars print.). I would like to attempt it in a cotton knit if I ever find a print that I think he'd like. He has one pair of cotton knit boxers that he loves and I'd like to try duplicating them.
Conclusion: Awesome boxer pattern. Test the sizing first.
