Pattern Description: V8817 tunic Pattern Sizing: 16-24 also comes in 8-16. I made a straight 20 to match my measurements Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Debatable. The tunic came out far longer than expected – near knee length Were the instructions easy to follow? I didn't even take them out of the envelope. It is a basic t-shirt pattern and the construction is straight forward. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The panel pieces give lots of options, but they are not obvious in this version. Fabric Used: a loose knit from my stash in purple and lime. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I omitted the neck binding Conclusion: I made this in about an hour from a loose knit sewed directly on the serger. Due to the fabric I put the fronts together, then the back, then shoulders and sewed the arms in with the aside seams. The hem and wrists were serged and I added a ribbon to the underside of the neck for stability and overlocked it on.
I already have a tshirt version of this pattern cut and waiting patiently, so I will most definitely make it again. I wasn't sure about the length, as I don't usually wear tunics let alone knee length ones, but in a spring/autumn weight loose knit I found it comfortable to wear.
