Were the instructions easy to follow?
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I hate that McCall's used that ridiculous photo for the cover of the pattern envelope. I'm sure many people glanced right over this fabulous jacket because of it.
Organic cotton twill from Mood. It doesn't have much drape to it but i like the option of wearing the front flap piece different ways.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I shortened the pattern by 3/4" at the lengthen/shorten line. An SBA was done by taking a 3/4" tuck out of the front piece and a 3/4" dart out of the side front piece tapering to nothing at the side seam. I reshaped the princess seam to fit my bust by reducing the curve of the side front piece. I slimmed the sleeves by 1/4" and used a 1/2" shoulder pad. The sleeves were sewn to the sleeve lining using the tip above. I used the cotton twill to line the front piece and cotton batiste for the rest of the lining.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes! I want a variation of this in leather. I highly recommend this jacket.
This is a great beginner jacket pattern!
