|Pattern Description: Misses Coordinates, includes patterns for a top, dress, skirt, jacket, and pants.|
Pattern Sizing: I cut a size 10 since I needed to use a yard of quilting cotton. It was the only size that would allow me to use the full width without going over the sides. (I am not thin enough to cut any size smaller.)
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Well, sort of...I cut the top closer fitting for my body, so it has less ease. I also omitted the pocket because that pocket is so unnecessary. I also significantly shortened the top to fit my short torso better. Had I kept the top its original length, it would have been too tight on the upper hips since the pattern's bottom hem would have hit right at my widest point. I would have had to cut a size 12 or 14 to keep the original length, and then the bust would have been very loose on my frame. SO SO GLAD I learned to shorten patterns for my top half, has made a world of difference in how things fit me.
Were the instructions easy to follow? They were decent. I kind of would prefer to face the neckline and armholes, but I get that most people prefer facing with bias binding, and the instructions provided to do so were adequate. The top is ridiculously simple to create, just the two pieces, and a couple of yards of binding is all you need.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Liked the design, especially the rounded curve, very unique. Loved how easy this is to put together and love how nice the finished product looks on me.
Disliked not having a facing, but I may be alone in this sentiment.
Fabric Used: Received this as part of a remnant bag from fabric.com. I am such a sucker for remnant bags, I always am surprised by what I receive, and I adore trying to figure out what to do with the pieces. Most of the time, the quilting remnants from fabric.com go to my kids, but I have a few pieces I have saved for myself.
(Since discovering fabric.com's remnant bags, I discovered Fabric Mart's bundles. OMG--another love. What great items they send!)
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: Shortened the bodice by two inches overall. I have a back length of 15 inches, so this makes sense for me, even though I am nearly 5'8".
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes! Have plans to do up the same pattern in another remnant bag quilting cotton that happens to match the shorts I am wearing with it in the photos you see in this review.
Conclusion: Like others who have sewn it, I adore the top pattern. I guess I should try something else from the patterns enclosed, but haven't had the desire yet!
