Very loose-fitting top. That is the description given by Vogue haha - extremely vague to say the least.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, for the most part. I made a bunch of alterations but I'd say that the basic lines of the top were unaltered.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, the instructions (for the top at least) were straightforward. There aren't any technically challenging parts to the top so it comes together very quickly but takes longer if you follow the instructions for the french seams, which I omitted in this version.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I was introduced to the pattern because it was a top pattern on this site but I'm surprised I didn't notice it before. I love a nice loose-fitting blouse, it's what I prefer to wear everyday in lab, and this top has such interesting seams and features that it looked really fun and comfortable.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Based on everyone else's review of this top I knew I was going to need a muslin. From there, I decided to make the following changes: - I went down one complete size - Raised the v-neck 1 inch - Raised the dart 1.5 inches - Shortened the darts by 1 inch - Topstitched the pleats down - Omitted french seams - Took in side seams for more shaping
Here's my altered pattern.
I like how the alterations changed the pattern but if I were to make it again (in the fabric I intended to use from the beginning) I would eliminate the front darts which result in weird pointy boobs.
I also followed other's suggestions to change the order of sewing together the 4 piece front bottom. First I sewed together the each bottom middle piece a bottom side piece and then sewed together the bottom middle seam. This made the construction much simpler. Front bottom
During sleeve construction, the instructions tell you to understitch the sleeve cuff. Make sure to actually follow the instructions and understitch the SA to the SLEEVE and not the sleeve cuff. I didnít follow this and my understitching is now visible on the exterior.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Whew, despite this long post I would actually sew this again. I want to wait a bit before I sew it again but I actually really like the finished garment. It is really comfortable and easy to wear.
