|Pattern Description: |
In my own words: A simple puffed sleeve fitted girls' tee with binding around the neck and sleeves.
I used a 92 (my daughter is 3 yrs old, average sized), but it is certainly slim fit. Cute slim, not tight. You may want to add a little to the sides if you are concerned. The neckline and sleeve width are perfect.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
No, because I did change the pattern a bit for a different look.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, the instructions were very good.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I think this pattern is an excellent basic pattern for a girl's wardrobe. The sleeves have some volume, but are very modern. The tee is a slim fit, and fits as the magazine pictures show.
Three different fabrics- a white and gray striped jersey from Chez Ami, an orchid colored solid cotton lycra jersey from Michael Levine's and a mystery knit jersey with a very 70s era zigzag stripe in multi colors on a white background from SAS in Hawthorne, CA.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I wanted to make more of a tunic, with angled side panels as I have seen in RTW. I used the length of the largest size, and just drew in my panels, cut and added a SA. I added strips of the gray and white striped fabric over the front angled seams using a decorative stitch and varigated cotton thread.
I also used an embroidery from Urban Threads called Bitty Bots. This top is the companion to a pair of Oliver + S Nature walk pants (I will be reviewing those next).
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I will definitely keep this pattern in mind and I am sure I will find it useful in the future. With the wide size ranges offered I am sure we will use it again!
I am surprised this hasn't been reveiwed yet- great staple top that you can get creative with!
All Photos can be seen here. This is my 3 year old being goofy and dancing while I am trying to get her to be still and model!
